1941: Carlo Bohlaender and other fans of jazz gathered in Frankfurt’s underground jazz Hot Club Frankfurt founded by them to play the music that – at that time – is officially insulted by the Nazis as “Negro music” or “degenerated music”.
After the turmoil of war and out of nowhere Carlo established the “Domicile du Jazz”, Europe’s oldest cellar and today’s “jazz club”.

Nominated for: Hessischer Filmpreis 2014
